Chapter 2. Continuous signal acquisition and off-line spike sorting

Legend:

1
- Control Tab 0 switches between Continuous (this chapter) and Triggered acquisition (Chapter 3)
2
- Control switch for X axis scale (samples or absolute time is used in graphs and PSTH)
3
- Raw signal graph
4
- Spike locator (the color of the dot corresponds to the color of  the spike shape in 13)
5
- Control Tab 1 (basic I/O parameters)
6
- Group indicators for automation:
       Signal THR – is the voltage threshold level for spike detection algorithm;
       Batch № –  is a number for the data chunk that is currently being processed;
       SPK found – total number of spikes detected at the processing data set;
       Hist THR – is the level to threshold norm histogram (need to determine the number of classes);
       Peak width – specifies the number of consecutive data points used in the quadratic least squares fit for finding peaks at the norm histogram;
       Sensitivity – is an important parameter for adjusting the construction of norm histogram, thus influencing the determination of the number of clusters. Tolerant range is 1,8-3,3 (Default is 2.6, most common for different types of signals and acquisitions).
       SPK show – specifies the number of spike shapes to be visualized in each window of Shapes Tab indicator.
7
- Control Tab 2 (FCM status and performance information).
8
- Information panel for number of clusters and features used.
9
- Control button “TEST” to RUN clustering/classification algorithm
10
- Control button “on-line” to RUN online classifier
11
- Group indicator of data elaboration
12
- Control button to stop the program
13
- Control Tab 3 (visualization and statistics)
14
- Information about detected and accepted spikes
15
- Squares at the top left corner of each graph are controls to change the color of the class
16
